چکیده
Abstract. Plant community composition influences carbon, water, and energy fluxes at regional to global scales. Vegetation demographic models (VDMs) allow investigation of the effects changing climate disturbance regimes on vegetation fluxes. Such requires that can accurately resolve these feedbacks simulate realistic composition. in VDMs is composed plant functional types (PFTs), which are specified according traits. Defining PFTs challenging due large variability trait observations within between a lack understanding model sensitivity Here we present an approach for developing PFT parameterizations connected underlying ecological processes determining forest mixed-conifer Sierra Nevada California, USA. We constrain multiple relative values PFTs, as opposed randomly sampling range observations. An ensemble then filtered based emergent properties meeting observation-based criteria under alternate scenarios. A small identified produces plausible demonstrates response frequency environmental variation. Retaining allows us quantify uncertainty responses key outcome from our methodology provides foundation robust parameterization across ecosystems.

متن کاملSpatiotemporal Predictive Models of Mediterranean Vegetation Dynamics
Empirical modeling of vegetation dynamics can be used for predictive purposes. The goal of the present study is to construct and evaluate possible approaches for empirical modeling of vegetation dynamics, and to investigate their potential use in planning and management. An empirical model of mediterranean vegetation dynamics was constructed using a case study of vegetation change in an area in...

When we retrieve information from text by statistical methods, we apply these methods not to random strings of words but to sentences, paragraphs etc. They are ruled by laws of logic inherent to language. Natural language conveys information about individuals (extension) using concepts (intension). The extensional aspect is captured by the familiar logical models, the intensional aspect by dist...

متن کاملThe effect of meteorological drought on vegetation dynamics in Iran
Drought as a complex ecosystem crisis can affect vegetation density and health. Iran with an arid and semi-arid climate is exposed to this phenomenon. Therefore, it is necessary to evaluate the effect of drought on vegetation. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effect of meteorological drought on vegetation dynamics in Iran. In this regard, using MATLAB software, SPEI index with time ...
